Building Community Roots
BRACKEN WOODS REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT
Join Our Efforts
Bracken Woods Lane hosts several empty lots that have been gifted to CUP by the Port Authority. CUP is working to develop these lots into community gardens, play spaces, and green learning spaces. The seven lots will host a play garden, a learning garden, an orchard, two community gardens, and a playground for resident children.
Students will work together to grow food, learn about nutrition, play, and practice conservation. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the earth, bio systems, and how to efficiently grow their own food.
COMMUNITY GARDENING
Taking Ownership
Community members are able to rent plots in our community garden for $20 per season. This fee includes regular workshops on growing techniques, an introduction to seed starting, and ongoing support throughout the season.
